Local father, son gain martial arts recognition (St. Petersburg Times)

Jay Blanton, a 10th-degree black belt and grandmaster in mang ho jujitsu ryu,
has been appointed by the European Jujitsu Union as a U.S. delegate. The union
is in Madrid, Spain, and headed by Javier Galen.
Jay's son, Robert Blanton, is a fifth-degree black belt in mang ho jujitsu ryu
was awarded ni dai soke (heir to) in mang ho jujitsu ryu by Galen.
Both Jay and Robert also received Shinja Martial Arts University Hall of
Honors awards as Christian grandmaster and master of the year.
Robert is currently looking into opening a facility in the Brooksville area.
He is interested in holding his first cane kwon do ryu self-defense program
for senior citizens. The discipline is meant to teach students how to use
their canes and other everyday items to defend themselves in a street attack.
