Quality Art has always been expensive considering the amount of hard work, creativity and patience it takes to make a perfect Oil Painting, Sketch work or any other form of Art that is handmade wall hanging. If Wall Art is always so expensive how would someone decorate walls with good quality framed art that is within their budget? The answer is âPrintsâ a word generally used for forms of âReproduced Art Workâ which is less expensive yet as refined and good looking as the Original Art. When it comes to Affordable Art we are not talking about those cheap Chinese framed art that is actually very low standard, reproduced without a copyright and lasts a less than a year. Here we shall talk about âPrintsâ or Reproduced Art Work which are genuine in quality, price suitable for Wall Decor. How does this work?
As an assumption an Artist who expects to earn Rs. 75,000 from a piece of Art shall divide his profits with the number of prints printed. This amount is the Artistsâ margin i.e. for 150 prints his margin shall be Rs. 500. After adding all the printing, distribution overheads to the artistâs margin the Retail Price is calculated that is generally less than Rs. 2000 for a medium sized art. There are various methods to reproduce an artwork. All have different technical requirements although we shall only discuss the price point impact and product types.
Fine Art Prints (Open Edition): Fine Art Print is a finely reproduced original art, printed on high quality art paper greater than 350gms. Usually they are open edition prints resulting into an affordable piece of art, used to decorate homes, offices in an affordable yet refined manner.
